Our guides cover health, so we hold them to a higher bar than marketing copy. Here’s how they’re written, checked and kept current.
Who writes the guides
Guides and comparisons are written and fact-checked by the Coachh Editorial Team at People In Tech LLC, the company that makes Coachh. When a credentialed expert (a certified personal trainer, registered dietitian or physician) has reviewed a page, the page says so at the top, with their name and credentials. Pages without that line haven’t had an outside expert review yet.
Where our facts come from
Every number, recommendation and research finding in a guide links to its source, and every guide ends with a full source list. In order of preference, we use:
- Government and public health bodies: the National Institutes of Health (including the Office of Dietary Supplements), the CDC, the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, the FDA and the WHO.
- Professional bodies and their position statements, such as the American College of Sports Medicine and the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
- Peer-reviewed research, preferring systematic reviews and meta-analyses over single studies, and saying how big a study was when it matters.
- For app comparisons: each app’s own website, help center and App Store listing, checked on the date shown on the page.
We don’t use numbers we can’t trace to a source, and we describe findings at the strength the evidence supports: “one study of 30 adults found”, not “science proves”.
How we write
- Each guide opens with a short, direct answer, then explains it. Plain words, short sections, tables where they help.
- No weight-loss promises, no before-and-after claims, and no “easy” or “guaranteed” results. Estimates are given as ranges.
- No medication dosing, ever. Questions about a medication go to the prescriber.
- Where Coachh comes up, we say it’s our product, stick to what it actually does, and say what it doesn’t do.
How we compare apps
We make Coachh, so our comparison pages follow extra rules: describe each app from its own pages, credit what it does well, report common complaints neutrally and only from public sources, date every price (US prices, which change), never disparage, and say plainly when another app is the better pick for someone. Other apps’ names are trademarks of their owners; Coachh isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by them.
Dates and updates
Every guide shows when it was last updated. We change that date when facts, numbers or advice change, not for typo fixes. We recheck guides at least every 12 months, comparisons every 3 months, and sooner when a guideline, a study or an app’s price changes.
Not medical advice
Our guides are general information for healthy adults. They aren’t medical advice and don’t replace a doctor, registered dietitian or other qualified professional who knows your situation. Talk to your doctor before starting a new exercise or eating plan, especially if you have a health condition, take medication or are pregnant. In an emergency, call 911.
Report an error
If something in a guide is wrong, out of date or unclear, email hello@peopleintech.io with the page and what you spotted. A person reads every message. We correct factual errors promptly and update the page’s date when the substance changes.
