Swap an exercise
How to swap an exercise mid-workout for one that fits your gym, and how to keep an exercise you dislike out of your plans for good.
Updated
Machine taken, or a move that doesn’t suit you today? Swap it. The new exercise trains the same movement, and it brings its own history, so the weights make sense.
In the chat
To keep an exercise out of your plans for good, tell Coachh: “I hate burpees” or “no more burpees, please”. It swaps in something that trains the same thing. “Bring back burpees” undoes it.
On iPhone
- In the workout, tap Swap under the set. (Before you start, tap the swap icon next to an exercise on the first page.)
- Optionally, say why: It’s taken, Not today or I don’t like it.
- Pick one of the options under Fits your gym, or search all exercises.
On Android
Coachh for Android launches in November 2026. These are the steps for the Android app once it’s out.
- Tap Swap under the set, or the swap icon on the workout’s first page.
- Pick a reason if you like, then an exercise under Fits your gym.
Good to know
- Sets you’ve already done stay logged as the old exercise; the rest move to the new one.
- I don’t like it keeps that exercise out of future plans. See or undo the list in Settings › Exercises you skip, with Bring back.
- Swaps only suggest what your equipment allows. Change it in Settings › Gym and limitations, or tell Coachh “my gym has no cables”.
- To drop an exercise just for today, tap More (the ⋯ under the set) and skip it. Skipped sets don’t count against you.
