Log a meal with a photo

How to snap your plate or pick a photo, add a note like “half the rice”, and check Coachh’s estimate of the calories and protein.

Updated

Take a photo of your plate and Coachh estimates what’s on it: calories, protein, carbs and fat, shown as a range rather than an exact number, since a photo can’t weigh your food.

In the chat

Send the photo in the chat, with a note if you like: “half the rice, no sauce” or “and a Greek yogurt”. The note changes the estimate. A photo sent with “should I eat this?” gets an honest take instead of a log.

On iPhone

  1. With the message box empty, tap the camera button beside it. (Or tap + › Take photo of a meal, or Choose from library for up to 4 photos.)
  2. Tap the shutter. The photo waits above the message box.
  3. Type a note, or press and hold Hold to add a note and say it.
  4. Tap Send, check the meal card, then tap Looks right or Adjust.

On Android

Coachh for Android launches in November 2026. These are the steps for the Android app once it’s out.

  1. Tap the camera button beside the message box, or + › Take photo of a meal or Choose from library.
  2. Take the photo, add a note if you like, and tap Send.
  3. Tap Looks right or Adjust on the meal card.

Good to know

  • A photo from earlier is logged at the time it was taken.
  • Ate less than you served? Tap Leftovers on today’s meal card and snap what’s left.
  • If the estimate is off, fix it, and Coachh uses your numbers for that food next time.
  • A meal photo uses 2 coaching credits: see Coaching allowance.
