Log a meal

How to log what you ate by telling Coachh in your own words, and the quicker ways: a photo, a barcode or one tap on a meal you’ve had before.

Updated

Tell Coachh what you ate, the way you’d tell a friend, and it logs the meal with an estimate of the calories, protein, carbs and fat. Estimates are marked as estimates, with a wider range when Coachh is less sure.

In the chat

Say “had two eggs and toast for breakfast” or “chicken bowl, half the rice”. If it’s unsure, Coachh asks one quick question. A meal said for yesterday is logged on yesterday.

Mention meals while asking something else (“what should I have for dinner? I had oatmeal and a salad”) and Coachh answers first, then offers to log them. Tap Yes, log them, or say “just lunch”.

On iPhone

  1. Type what you ate in the chat and tap Send.
  2. Or tap Meal in today’s habits at the top of the chat for Snap your plate, Scan a barcode, Scan a nutrition label, Describe it, or a recent meal under Log again.
  3. Check the meal card. Tap Looks right, or Adjust to change it.

On Android

Coachh for Android launches in November 2026. These are the steps for the Android app once it’s out.

  1. Type what you ate and tap Send, or tap Meal in today’s habits for the same options.
  2. Tap Looks right on the meal card, or Adjust.

Good to know

  • “Should I eat a burrito?” gets an honest verdict and logs nothing until you say so.
  • An estimated meal goes to Apple Health or Health Connect once you tap Looks right or fix it.
  • More ways: with a photo, with a barcode and My foods.
