Running, walking and steps

How to add running or walks to your plan, how runs from your watch count, and how your daily step goal adapts.

Updated

Coachh can plan runs or brisk walks next to your lifting, mostly easy, nothing hard before leg day. On a run day, today’s plan is the run: its blocks, how long, and the heart-rate zone to aim for.

In the chat

Say “I want to add running to my plan”. Coachh reviews the change and shows the new plan before anything changes.

On iPhone

  1. Open Menu › My plan › Change my plan and tap I want to add running. In onboarding’s running question, Walking is my conditioning plans brisk walks instead of runs.
  2. On a run day, tap Start the timer on Today. The player times each interval and says it out loud.
  3. For steps, open Settings › Walking and steps and pick an Adaptive or My own step goal.

On Android

Coachh for Android launches in November 2026. These are the steps for the Android app once it’s out.

  1. Open Menu › My plan › Change my plan and tap I want to add running.
  2. Start a run from Today. Step goals are in Settings › Walking and steps.

Good to know

  • A run recorded on your watch, or in an app like Strava that writes to Apple Health or Health Connect, counts toward today’s planned run. A walk doesn’t count as a run.
  • The adaptive step goal starts near what you already walk and grows a little each week you hit it.
  • Walks from your watch show up in the chat and keep your streak. Gentle walking nudges are in Walking and steps too, and need reminders on.
